ATTENTION: This site is being retired to make way for a newer and better site!
You may redeem vouchers you have purchased, but we are no longer selling whiteboards or vouchers. See the new site at yovilleart.com!
How do I use the program?
The best instructions are on the download page.
What's a key? What's a voucher? What's the difference?
A key is what you type into the program to tell it which image to
produce. For example, 'demo' is a key.
A voucher is like a coupon, where what is normally $2.00 is free instead. When you upload an image to produce a custom whiteboard, the final step asks you to pay for a key by PayPal. Ordinarily this costs $2 for bronze, but if you have a bronze voucher, you can redeem it to produce a key for your image without paying anything. Each voucher can be redeemed only once. Vouchers are usually long (nine digit) numbers.
How does the program work?
After you enter the key, the program downloads the pen strokes for that image.
It fetches the pen strokes from lightningjamie.com in four parts. After it
downloads each part, it draws on the whiteboard by automatically moving the
mouse and clicking.
But how does it get all the colors?
The program uses a special method to enable all the additional colors. It's
something of a trade secret so I can't go into more detail.
Is this legal? Will I get banned?
Using this program might violate the terms of service, which prohibits
automation, among other things. It is up to you to understand the implications
of this. Use of this program is at your own risk! I have used
this program many, many times on my main account, but there is never any
guarantee that they won't suddenly crack down and start harassing art dealers.
If you are worried about getting busted for automation, you could use a
separate account for whiteboard creation so as to not jeopardize your main
account.
Why don't you allow unlimited copies of a whiteboard?
Part of the reason for not offering unlimited copies is that it's hard to
choose a fair price for an infinite
number of whiteboards. An art dealer could potentially make millions of coins,
which would suggest the price should be relatively high (say $50 or so). But
at the same time, it's a very risky investment because the dealer might not be
able to sell as many whiteboards as expected. This would lead to unhappy
customers. The current setup is more of a "pay as you go" type of system,
which avoids that. "Pay as you go" also simplifies some of the risks (for
example, if Zynga issues a patch that breaks the program) because there are no
long-term commitments or expectations that need to be reconciled.
Can I get a volume discount?
If you are already a regular customer, then probably. Contact me to arrange
something.
Do you have a catalog of images I can pick from?
Currently there are no plans for this. I would be open to the possibility, if
there were enough demand.
Can you make whiteboards using only the 8 available colors?
I don't currently offer this. You might be thinking of
www.elfano.com.
I got the message "Problem preparing the application." What should I do?
This error message is rare, and I am trying to better understand what causes it.
It has been observed on Firefox 3.6.4 (which is the Beta version of the next
release) and I'm still trying to understand which combinations of browser and OS
are responsible. If you experience this error, contact me and be sure to include
the version of your browser and the version of Windows that you're using.
I have a question that's not answered here. What should I do?
Please feel free to go to my blog
and post your question there. Other people are probably wondering the same
thing you are.
